Zinc anode, environmentally friendly, Eco-anode

Sacrificial anode designed with the environment in mind.

This environmentally friendly zinc sacrificial anode is type approved and well suited for seawater conditions. Available in numerous shapes and sizes, with various mounting options.

DNV type-approved cadmium-free zinc anode alloys are regarded as a more environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional zinc anodes that contain higher levels of cadmium. Cadmium, a toxic heavy metal, poses risks to the environment and human health.

Regulatory frameworks such as REACH and the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR Convention) restrict or discourage the use of hazardous substances like cadmium due to its potential for bioaccumulation and long-term environmental harm.

Standards such as DNV-RP-B401 and MIL-DTL-18001L provide guidelines for the chemical composition of zinc-based anode materials, allowing cadmium concentrations between 0.025% and 0.07%. In contrast, cadmium-free zinc anode alloy, with cadmium levels limited to ≤ 0.001%, offer a superior environmental cadmium-related solution.
