HT-Anode

The environmentally friendly HT-Anode zinc anode alloy is designed for
1) Elevated temperature conditions, and 2) Environmental reasons, such as conditions involving the food industry. The anode alloy is cast without heavy metals (cadmium free). 

Chemical composition:

  • Aluminium (Al): Min 0.1 – max 0.21
  • Cadmium (Cd): Max 0.001
  • Iron (Fe): Max 0.002
  • Copper (Cu): Max 0.001
  • Magnesium (Mg): Min 0.06 – max 0.15
  • Lead (Pb): Max 0.004
  • Others (total): Max 0.05
  • Zinc (Zn): Remaining

Electrochemical properties at 20 °C ambient sea water conditions:

  • Capacity: 780 Ah/kg
  • Consumption rate: 11.2 kg/Ayear
  • Closed circuit potential: -1030 mV Ag/AgCl/seawater

The capacities are based on 28 days test performed by Force Technologies adapted from the procedures in DnV RP B401, annex B and C.

Properties of HT-Anode

  • Designed to meet the demand of sacrificial anodes at elevated temperature conditions, for instance in oil cargo tanks.
  • Demonstrates consistent behaviour at temperatures where conventional anodes collapse.
  • Targeted to be cadmium free, and hence also recommended for environmental reasons.
